In an effort to keep up with the cool kids (and please its users), Research In Motion (RIM) is moving ahead with its 2011 release plans which include a cvasi-successor of the BlackBerry Storm 2, a model known as Monaco or Monza which has now got its own, unofficial photo shoot.
The incoming device, which is expected to lack the ‘Storm’ moniker (it could end up being called BlackBerry Touch), runs BlackBerry OS 6.1 and will require users to log in with a BlackBerry ID and not a PIN. This method would help multiple individuals use the same phone without actually having access to each others private data.
Spec wise, Monaco (Verizon Wireless model) / Monza (worldwide GSM model) will feature a 800 x 480 touchscreen, and a 1.2 GHz processor. A Q3 release is rumored to be targeted for this device so there’s still some waiting to be done.
