Holmium Yag Laser installed in RIMS

Imphal, May 25 2012:
A Holmium Yag Laser (30 watts) was installed Friday in the Urology operation theatre of RIMS hospitals.
The state of the art medical equipment was formally inaugurated by Director of the institute Prof S Sekharjit today morning, Media Advisor of RIMS informed in a statement.
A complete HD endoscopic camera along with medical grade monitor Olympus Visera was also installed.
The Director inaugurated the facility by operating on two “stone” patients using the equipments.
The faculty and residents of the Urology department continued with more operations.
This new facility will provide facilities for non-invasive endoscopic lithotripsy, kidney, urology and bladder abolition of tumours, etc, the statement added.
